School

This almost the end of the school year. We only have 6 days left of school.

This time of year is very stressful, sad, and exciting. Stressful because we have a lot of work we have to do. Sad because we have to leave these teachers and classmates and get new teachers and new classmates. Exciting because we are going to be in grade 8 and going to be the role models of the school.

Also, we are going to be having party's and be having fun. For the last couple of days left.

Grade 7 has been a great experience for me . I think this year was a really fast year that i really enjoyed.

Field Trips

The grade 7 classes get a chance to go to 3 field trips for only $50.00.

The first trip is on June 1, 2009. They will be going to Black Creek Pioneer Village.

The second trip is on June 2, 2009. We will be going to the Toronto Zoo.

The last trip is on June 4, 2009. The grade 7 students will be going to the stadium to watch the Blue Jays game.

If I Could Be In Anyones Shoes.....

If i could switch into someone else shoes, i would switch with a child my age that is poor and has to work to earn food for themselves and their family.

I would like to be in that persons shoes so that i can know how they feel and what they go through everyday and the struggles they have to face.

Also, so that I'll know how grateful i am to live in Canada. Also, have a family that can afford to buy me what i need, give me a shelter, and provide me with food every night without doing anything.

Lastly, so that i can help those people out and try doing something for them that will help them out. I will also make sure that people are aware of what others our age have to do to earn a living.

If I Could Star In A Movie......

If I could be a star in any movie I would want to star in a movie called "Race To Witch Mountain."

I would star in this movie because I like the story. Also because this movie was nice and i liked the animated parts.

In this movie I would like to be the girl because she is one of the main character. The other main character is the boy her brother.

Blue Jays

On May,5th the Toronto Blue Jays had a game against the Cleveland Indians. The Blue Jays won the game. The score for the Blue Jays was 10, and for the Cleveland Indians was 6. I like the Blue Jays...

Khalsa Parade

There are 5 people that hold flags and walk the whole route. Infront of everyone else.

This is something that is done in the parade.

This past Sunday April 26th was the 22nd annual Sikh Khalsa Day celebration. This parade is about Vasakhi. Which marks the 308th anniversary of the Sikh religion.

The Khalsa Parade grows every time. Organizers said that at first when this event started only about 2,000 people participated but now there are about 60,000 people participating. Also, this celebration is the third largest parade in the city.

On this day me and my cousion get together and have a lot of fun. We also pray to god and remember what this day is about.

When we reach the end there are tables of free food. Some give free chips, choclate's, and pizza. Other places give you free indian food like roti and all those things.

Albion Hills

My class (701) and class 705 went on a trip to Albion Hills We went on April 13th.

When we arrived there we were all introduced to our guides. Then we played a game. In this game we all were divided into groups and then we had to make a line while we were on the floor. Then we had to pass a sponge by using our legs and we couldn't move. We had to stay in the exact position.

After we went outside. When we were outside every group split up. Each group went and played games. My group first did the activity's that were not in the forest. When we were done with those activity's we went in the forest. My most favourite game was the one where we had to go walk on strings and make it to the place where you started. We went in a circle.

It was 12 o'clock so we headed back for lunch. Lunch was supplied to us. We got pizza, soup, salad, juice, and crackers. We ate until around 1.

When it was one we were divided into different groups. So that we could play our last group. This game was called "Save the Earth". We all had to find the answers to our question by finding the post with that topic and read through it.

My group was fast and organized. So we won, in the end we had to read the puzzle and go to that place and find our treasure. This game was very fun.

Albion Hills was the best place.

Jet Hijack

A CanJet plane was on its way to Jamaica and then go to Cuba. But, a gunman hijacked the plane and kept six crew members hostage for 8 hours. After those 8 hours police and soliders went in and arrested the gunman. No person was killed or injured in this hijack. This happened at 10:20 pm and ended at 6:40 am. In total about 159 passengers were in the jet. I think the people in the jet will never want to go on a plane to any place. Atleast i won't.

Good Friday and Easter

On April 10th is Good Friday. On Good Friday most students (from public schools) have no school. So a day to sleep in for those children. Some adults also have a holiday from there jobs. For some family's it is like a family day.

On April the 12th is Easter. On this day Malls are closed. Easter is a day of joy and a day that is full of adventure. On this day some family's do an Easter Egg Hunt. I had an easter egg hunt last year it was very fun.

So many students are excited about these events because in my school we have no school on Friday due to Good Friday and we also don't have school on Monday. So there are no worrys and we can do whatever we want!!!!!!!

Dr.Eva's visit

The other day Dr.Eva came to our school and told us about her experience when she was younger. She was a Jewish girl.When she was young she had to face a lot of horrible tortures.

She told us that they all were taken to Germeny in a box train. When they reached there half the people died on the way due to the lack of oxygen. They were all divided into different groups. Lady's with children and old women were put into as gas chamber. Where they were locked in and then they had some bad chemicals put in there sot that they could die.

Then the young girls had to go bald and taken to a place where they would get only a little food once a day. Also, they had to sleep on very small beds.(like shelfs) After a while they were transfered to another place because where they were staying was burnt down. In this place they had to sleep on the floor and the floor was very dirty.

When i heard up to this part I felt really horrible and sad for the time she was like this and the part they were seperated she only saw her whole family except for her sister(because they were toghter) the last time. She also never saw them dead.

After she said that she was liberated. At that part I felt glad for her and her sister that survived. Overall I found the presentation really meaningful.

The world needs more of...

The world needs more peacful people. Also, the world needs more safety. The world should also be more joyful(fun). But firstly we need more peace.

By the word peaceful. I mean we should be kind to everyone even to people that they don't like. If everyone is nice then we won't have a lot of gun shots, bombs, and war.(that kill a lot of people) Also, we won't have to spend a lot of money on weapons because we won't be going to war. Our world would be so much more safe without all this stuff.

Talking about safety it means there will be more strict laws. There will be more security so everyone will feel more safe walking from one place to another. Also everyone will be more happy.

Lastly, we need Happiness/Joy. So that everyone will be more kinmd and it will prevent fights from happening or any violence effects to peoples life. This way everyone will be happy in the world.

IF I LIKE TO READ 20 MINUTES AND WRITE 20 MINUTES

I enjoy reading 20 minutes when a supply teacher is in the class. I like the reading part because i get a chance to read in school. (Instead of when i go home) This way i have more time to go play outside. Also i get more time to do my homework. (atleast 30-45 minutes of more time) I kind of don't like the writing part because sometimes you have no idea to what you have to write on. Also, at moments i have no idea on the topic we have to write on and the teacher doesn't help us as much as our teacher does. Well I sort of like the idea of the 20 minute writing and reading when a supply teacher is in our class. Mostly, because the teacher doesn't have an idea to what we already know and what we don't know.

Earth Hour

Earth Hour
Earth hour is a significant event. We are suppose to shut off all our devices that use electricity even our light. For one hour. This helps our planet, and where we live for the better of the new coming generation.
Our goal this year is to have atleast one billion people turn off their electricity. In the year 2008 fifty million people participated in this event and in 2007 2 million people participated. This event was started in sydney.
I think this is a great event. Last year i wasn't able to participate because i went somewhere. But, this year i am going to participate because even 1 person makes a huge difference.
I also want to stop global warming because it is an enormous problem in the world. Earth hour is one way we can find a way through this. Atleast a little difference will happen.
This activity will not completely stop the problem of global warming but it will make people aware of global warming. Also, telling them that when they use electricity and their car they add carbon to the air. So they are expanding global warming.
If you think what will you do in that time in the dark. You can first of all put on a flash light or a candle and play a board game with your family or who ever you are with. Or you can talk on your Cellphone with ur friends that also have a cellphone. You can also sleep or anything that does not use the electricity.
Well, Pitch in and turn off your lights on March 28th, 2009. From 8:30-9:30 p.m. to save electricity and to be one of those million, billion people that participated.

Hybrid Car

Nissan is planning to put out a hybred car in 2010. The car will offer gaselectric hybrid for the U.S and the Japanese market next year. I think this is a great idea and we should try to buy one because it helps save the earth. So everyone should try to buy one.
